  1. Scope of Services and Professional Role

I provide therapeutic support and divorce-related support. My role is supportive, facilitative, and educational.

I do not act as a solicitor, barrister, or regulated legal professional. Any legal information shared is general in nature and should not be relied upon as legal advice. You remain responsible for obtaining independent legal advice where appropriate.

My services do not replace medical, psychiatric, or legal care.

  1. Confidentiality

All work carried out within our professional relationship is treated as confidential and handled with care and respect.

Confidentiality may be broken only where:

  • We both agree to share information with a third party, or
  • I am legally or ethically required to disclose information, including where there is a risk of serious harm to you or others, or safeguarding concerns involving children or vulnerable adults.

Confidentiality applies to sessions and to written or verbal communication outside sessions.

  1. Records and Data Protection

All records are stored electronically and securely in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

I may retain your name, contact details, relevant background information, and notes relating to the services provided. By engaging in services, you consent to this processing.

  1. Nature of the Working Relationship

The length and structure of our work together will depend on your needs and circumstances. Support may include:

  • Individual sessions
  • Blocks of sessions
  • Ongoing or time-limited flexible support
  • Ad-hoc support as agreed

The scope and format of services may be reviewed and adjusted by mutual agreement.

  1. Sessions (Where Booked)

Where sessions are booked, the length will be agreed in advance. Sessions typically last up to two hours unless otherwise agreed.

You are responsible for attending sessions on time and ensuring you are in a suitable environment for the work.

  1. Flexible / Non-Session-Based Support

Some services are provided outside of booked sessions. This may include written communication, document review, telephone calls, or other agreed forms of support.

Time spent providing this support forms part of the services provided and may be charged accordingly, as agreed in advance.

Once work has begun, time spent remains payable even if the work is later paused or discontinued.

  1. Cancellations and Changes

Sessions

Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice, or missed without notice, will be charged in full.

If I need to cancel a session, you will not be charged and we will arrange an alternative where possible.

Non-Session-Based Work

Fees remain payable for time already spent on work outside sessions, even if the work is later paused or discontinued.

  1. Fees and Payment

Fees are agreed in advance and may vary depending on the type of service provided.

  • Session-based therapeutic work is charged at a fixed rate, payable in advance.
  • Flexible or divorce-related support may be charged on a time basis, package basis, or other agreed structure and is invoiced monthly.

Payment details will be provided as applicable.

  1. Boundaries and Communication

Contact is limited to professional communication relating to the services provided and will take place during normal working hours unless otherwise agreed.

I am not an emergency or crisis service. If you require urgent support, you should contact appropriate emergency or support services.

Sessions or support may be paused or stopped if continuing would not be safe, appropriate, or professionally responsible.

Mobile phones must be on silent during sessions. Audio or video recording of sessions is not permitted.

  1. Ending the Working Relationship

Either of us may end the working relationship at any time.

I reserve the right to end services where:

  • Fees are not paid
  • Boundaries are repeatedly breached
  • The work falls outside my scope of competence
  • Continuing would not be safe or appropriate

Where appropriate, I will support a safe ending and provide referrals.

  1. Insurance, Ethics and Professional Practice

I hold professional liability insurance appropriate to my scope of work and practice in accordance with relevant ethical standards.

  1. Complaints

If you have concerns about the way I work, I encourage you to raise them with me directly in the first instance.

If this is not possible, you may contact:
